Dear my track team and coaches and all of those other people,

Wow. What a season! We had such a great time running, jumping, leaping, throwing, and building each other up. I can’t imagine who I would be if I didn’t have this incredible five-week experience.

I went into track season feeling, well, unaccomplished and sad. There was a 400-meter-rubber-track-shaped-hole in my heart. I made very unexpected friends through this experience. I went in with 1.5 friends and left with more than that. Honestly, that’s all I can ask for. In the words of Gunnar, “it’s about the friends you make along the way.” How inspiring.

It’s funny, I act like this is the end of an era, but I go to school with these people. Like, literally all of them I knew before, but I didn’t really know them very well. I strengthened so many bonds that I didn’t know existed and learned so much about myself in the process.

The coaches = amazing. The team = amazing. The smell of the vans = no comment.

Please leave a comment about your favorite track memory below. Mine was the vans, cheering for people, and landing on two feet in long jump for the first time.

Well, I guess it’s time to say goodbye… I will miss you all so, so much. And the shin splints. Those were fun.

Until districts,

Liv
