Today was an amazing day. I say this a lot, and you may think the whole “positivity thing” is overdoing it, but today was genuinely an amazing day.
It all started in leadership, where we got down to business prepping for chapel, and set aside time to pray over the class prayer requests. It was so great to have a time to connect with Jesus and bring our troubles before Him. Mrs. Johnson put it like this: we are fighting a war, and prayer literally tears down the strongholds of the enemy.
After leadership was break, which was rather chilly, but Kinley, Mikka, and I talked about the avocado crisis and Kinley’s excess consumption of bananas.
ELA with Mrs. Esping was hilarious, like usual, although all of my limbs hurt, so my table partner had to turn in all of my assignments. It didn’t help that I was wearing boots with a heel, but hey, they make me feel powerful, so…
Lunch was a rehearsal for chapel, and I ate a delicious thing I made (which Kinley said was gross), and ate 100% dark chocolate (which Mikka said was gross). We got through another practice, and everybody felt confident. Sometimes, there are some nerves, especially for the members of the team that aren’t used to being on stage. We prayed over all of those nerves.
Choir was amazing, like usual. Mrs. Walchenbach is actually like the best person ever. We are prepping for a showcase coming up, where we will be performing along with band, dance, and drama, as an open house for our school. We are having major construction done on our school and we’re trying to build a new arts wing.
Chapel was great too. Worship ran smoothly, and we sang three songs. Our goal is not to perform, but to be a vessel through which others can worship.
After school, at track, I tried long jump for the first time. I’m not great, but the coach was really nice, and I love talking to the other people on the team. I might just try everything and see what I like best.
I just want to remind everybody that no matter what happens in your life, you can always depend on the Firm Foundation that is Jesus Christ. I’m praying that everybody who is reading these words would be blessed. My life isn’t perfect. Today wasn’t perfect. But Jesus is perfect. So keep being joyful, and you got this!
