This is it! We’re packed and ready for our trip to Mexico. Our cruise boards in Los Angeles, and Emily and Mom are driving there now. Last night, they stayed in Sacramento, so they got up early this morning to make it to LA before our plane lands. This is a working post that I will add to throughout the day, like a diary.
Yesterday there was a little bit of a snowstorm! School got out at 11:30, so I went home early to think about our cruise!

6:26 AM: It seems our flight might get cancelled due to the weather, so I’m praying we don’t have to drive.
7:26 AM: It’s looking pretty good. Only a couple of flights have been cancelled from PDX to LAX, so I think our flight will go, on time. Let’s hope and pray we make it! We are headed to the airport in my dad’s Rivian, taking in the snow while listening to songs from a really long time ago.
9:39 AM: After driving around a full parking garage for a while, we finally found a parking spot on the top level, out in the snow. The security line was unfathomably long, but luckily, we have TSA Pre-check, so we got through in about 15 minutes. We are now at the gate waiting. My dad still isn’t sure if the flight will go or if we will get cancelled. At about ten, I’m planning to get a Yumm Bowl from Cafe Yumm at the airport. I’m so excited to get on this plane and get out of this crazy storm!
10:06 AM: The flight before us is boarding and I’m going to get Cafe Yumm.
10:59 AM: I’m drinking a sugar-free vanilla bean Frappuccino from Starbucks. I already ate the bowl, and we should board soon.

3:06 PM: We made it safely to LA! We checked into our room and are planning to explore the area and get some dinner. We have successfully reunited with Mom and Emily. On the plane, they promised turbulence. There was no turbulence. Everything worked out for the absolute best! A couple minutes ago, I heard the horn of the Navigator of the Seas take off. My friend Emelia is on that cruise! She’s on the same itinerary, but one day earlier.
5:19 PM: We explored some outlets and walked around town for a while. We had a lovely dinner of California Pizza Kitchen pizza, salad, and dip, and returned to our hotel to eat cake (which we brough for some unknown reason.) We are off to check out some new shops on the wharf.

6:23 PM: We have returned to the room after walking down the boardwalk. We saw a lot of cute shops, but after a long day, we’re ready for a chill evening. The view was incredible as the sun set, and the smell of the salty air was refreshing, and was an excited reminder of what is to come… The cruise!
Goodnight, fellow travelers! Happy Valentine’s Day!
