Well, to begin with, we won! I never had a doubt. Luca is so proud to be the MVP. My team was perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing, although none of us can spell or do trivia, so…

Here’s what we made (for $28.05):

Luca’s Marvelous Mac ‘n Cheese
Our main dish was cheesy shell pasta with cheddar and smoked gouda cheese. We used Italian herb seasoning and bacon crumbles. Thank you, Luca, we know you carried.

Naan Dippers with Fresh Hummus
We took naan dipper bites and made our own garbanzo bean mash with lemon, olive oil, cumin, paprika, and salt. Super fresh, super delicious. The other teams kept eating it.

Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
Noah struggled and then succeeded with the lemon juicer, making the most amazing refreshing lemonade EVER. He did such a good job. Go Noah!

Completely Made-up Lemon Tart
Emma requested a recipe, so here you go! (There is no actual science for this, it was a competition, we threw it together, sorry!)

Shoutout to Maddy, I love her so much, she did so amazing with the tart shells and the shopping cart as well as plating.

  1. Preheat the oven to 375, line cupcake sheets.
  2. Mix 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tsp salt to make dough, and mold into tart shapes in the cupcake liners.
  3. Mix juice from one lemon, zest, 4 eggs, and heavy whipping cream, and simmer until it gets thicker.
  4. Put the goo into the tarts and top with Luca’s whipped cream recipe.

  1. For the mac and cheese, I boiled the water added the pasta. After I cooked the pasta, I made the sauce in the same pot on low temp. I shredded a block of mild cheddar and added some smoked Gouda (about an eighth of the cheddar) that I had shredded and put that in the pot and added heavy cream. I added heavy cream and stirred it for about 30-50 seconds and then repeated that until the cheese had melted and made a creamy sauce. Then, I added the pasta back in the pot, mixed in the sauce, and added bacon bits in while stirring. I put the mac and cheese in a bowl and topped it with a little more bacon and then some smoked Gouda.

To make the whipped cream I used the rest of the heavy cream added some sugar and a couple drops of vanilla extract and whisked it until it became whipped cream. Use a about as much heavy cream as you want whipped cream.
