I am currently sitting in math class with no work to do. This period, we have been exchanging stories and summer bucket list ideas while Mrs. Himes talks about Stardew Valley. Our final is next Tuesday, and we’re done learning new topics for the year.
This is it, the end of middle school. We have six days of school left. I’m really going to miss it, actually.
I started this blog at the beginning of sixth grade, promising to write all through middle school. After a while, my life sort of fell apart and the posting fizzled. But now, at the end of eighth grade, I’m back, and my perspective has totally changed.
Looking back on some of my old posts has been painful. I deleted all of my posts from before this year and saved them in drafts, so only I could read them. My first semester of sixth grade was a disaster, but I reinvented myself for the second. I was so close to the end, a few weeks away from summer, when total drama broke out and resulted in an expulsion.
Over the summer, I recommitted to picking up the pieces. Seventh grade year started strong, but once again fell back into anxiety and depression. That was my lowest low. From there, I’ve found new friends, people who can support me. Most importantly, I gave my life to Jesus, for real.
This year has gone by in a blink. I have a great new community of people who build me up, not tear me down. I’ve grown so much in middle school.
I will continue to post reflections soon, thank you for reading!
