Emily and I like to do this thing where she gives me a word like forest, and I make a hairstyle out of it. We’ve done a few, but I haven’t taken pictures. Here’s an idea of the forest hairstyle and how to do it.
When she gave me the word forest, I instantly thought of Katniss Everdeen, who’s hair always looked amazing even when people were trying to kill her.
If it wasn’t winter, I would have gone outside and grabbed some flowers for her hair, but as it is freezing outside, I decided to just leave it as is.
Emily has really coarse, thick, pin-straight hair, so it is great for complex styles, but it doesn’t curl easily.

I mostly braid on her, while on my own hair I lean toward wavy styles. I would recommend this style for longer hair. It was very easy to do.
All you need is two elastic bands and one large hair tie, as well has a few bobby pins. Start with two small tied-off braids framing the face. Wrap them into a crown, pinning them on opposite sides. Braid the rest of the hair in a loose 5-strand braid before tying off.
I hope you enjoyed this style!
