I’ve talked a lot about my family, but sometimes I just drop my friends name, and everybody is like “huh?” I have three groups of friends, in a way. My old friends are from my old school, before I moved, my Reno friends are from Reno, and my new friends are from my new school, post-move. In this post, I will be talking about my oldest friends. See my post on new friends here.
Old Friends
My old friends are probably the closest. Okay, definitely. We’ve been through a lot together, and even when we moved, they came to visit us. I love all of them so much, and they’ve each impacted my life so much, I can’t put it into words.
Maddy is amazingly sweet, she has such a good heart and loves so much. I remember one day, I went to her house, and we stopped by the neighborhood pool because she REALLY wanted to get sunburnt. She played me all these songs and told me about them, and we were laughing so hard. When she’s in the pool, she always thinks she’s drowning, and she’ll grab people, bringing them down with her. It is so fun!
Dawson, her brother, is extremely funny, but also has a side that is so extremely kind, and you know when you meet him, he’s a follower of Jesus. We have a room in our cabin that we got to decorate however we wanted, so one day, my mom picked us both up and we went to Chipotle and IKEA. At IKEA we were making up all these acronyms for things, it was confusing but really funny.
Emma is the definition of grace. She is amazing, and she’s like an older sister I know I can always trust. When I have a bad day, I can just call her, and she’ll listen. She may seem quiet at first, but once you get to know her, she starts acting really goofy. We had a sleepover in her room, and we carried a TV into the epic fort we built, it was awesome!
Noah is my best friend. When we’re in a group, we hang out with everybody, but when it’s just us, we’re singing, dancing, and hiking in the snow, laughing the whole time. At our old house, there was this guest room with a closet, and we would just sit in there, hiding from Emma, mixed in with Trail Blazer jerseys and my mom’s wedding dress, and we would just talk about nothing for hours. We acted out The Greatest Showman in our playroom, and I went all out with the singing. He kind of just stood there dorkily with a hat.
I remember one year, we had a two-night sleepover, and we went to a pumpkin patch, but all the pumpkins were rotten, so we ran around, pushing each other into a hay pile like little kids. Then, we played soccer in a field with our dads, and I got to be goalie.
From putting on little plays for our parents, to making annual gingerbread houses, to riding ATV’s while singing EXTREMLY loudly, every moment is an amazing occasion.
Tymon is such an amazing friend, and I don’t know why we don’t hang out more often. He is so caring, and he always checks in on people. He’s also one of the funniest people ever, and I don’t know what we would do without him.
I’m always so worried that things are changing, but they aren’t. The best times of my life are with these people, and I’ll never lose that. These friends are my family, and I can’t imagine life without them.
