Character Monologue!

What do you think of this?

Hello, I’m Primrose Flowers, and I run the Waterly Animal Hotel. Allow me to tell you how it began. I lived happily with my husband and kids in a small house in Waterly, USA. When my twin children were 6 months, we heard about an orphan who needed a family. So we made the choice to adopt Pookie! At first, we thought she was just like any other child, but as the three children developed, we noticed strange differences in Pookie. By the age of 1, Pookie was hairy. She never learned how to speak, and by the age of 5, we needed to see a doctor. The doctor was all, “This ain’t no vet!” And that’s when we discovered Pookie was a 30-pound Pomeranian. We knew that we would have to give her special attention and she would have a horrible life if she continued to live with human puppies! We made the hard decision to break up the family so that Pookie could live better and have a successful future. Pookie and I moved to a mansion, and the family would visit every week. Pookie expressed to me she was lonely. She went: AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. And I knew we needed to buy Whiskers. I thought he was rather large for a cat, but I didn’t notice how big and how fast he grew until my husband pointed it out. Those were the last words he ever said… Before the lion gobbled him up in one big bite. My children took some time to adjust. They knew I wouldn’t take care of them. I was occupied with Whiskers and Pookie. They must stay in their rooms to not be eaten, and I would bring them their meals via a pooper scooper catapult. Neighbors heard of the animals and began asking me to take care of their fur babies. My children helped me turn the mansion into an animal hotel. They were good workers, but one day, a cobra ate them, and I suppose there was nothing anyone could do about it. The Hotel thrived, and it does to this day. I’m perfectly happy with my animals today. If my family had to be eaten, so be it.

Your friend,
Blueberry
